Update, Crash Dynamics of East Freeway Fatal Wreck of 3 Pickup Trucks

Our East Freeway truck accident attorneys covered an East Freeway fatal wreck of three pickup trucks that ejected one driver from his cab over an overpass barrier to fall to his tragic death on I-10 below. Click the link to read about the fatal East Freeway crash. Little was known about the horrific Harris County accident at the time. But authorities have released more information that has made the crash dynamics a bit clearer.

The driver who was ejected from his truck apparently was eastbound in a Ford F-150 on the East Freeway when he suddenly changed lanes, likely at a fairly high aped. He hit the rear of a Chevy pickup truck. The force of the impact hurled the Chevy pickup truck forward to crash into a Toyota Tacoma pickup.

The front right side of the Chevy locked with the back left of the Toyota Tacoma and the pair of pickup trucks rotated counterclockwise, finally coming to rest in the East Freeway’s inside lane. Our East Freeway truck accident attorneys at Denena Points, PC note that it’s not unusual in a high-speed freeway wreck for vehicle frames to become locked together by the force of an impact and then begin spinning in the same direction to meet their fates together. Click here to learn more about how crash impact forces affect the human body.

Meanwhile, the Ford F-150 had continued across all the eastbound lanes of the East Freeway to crash into the concrete barrier. The crash ejected the Ford F-150 pickup truck over the overpass barrier onto the I-10 service road below. His pickup truck traveled partway along the top of the concrete barrier before finally toppling over the barrier onto the I-10 service road below. Our East Freeway truck accident attorneys mention that the Harris County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the tragic three pickup truck crash.
