Texas truck accident attorneys note that 56-year-old Johnny Rodriguez, a truck driver from Victoria, Texas, has been arrested on intoxication assault and reckless driving charges after driving into two pickup trucks and injuring a driver on Saturday. Reportedly, Rodriguez was coming up on a pickup truck stopped at a red light on U.S. Highway 59 at FM 236. Rodriguez rear ended the pickup truck with his 18-wheeler and bumped it out of the way, then continued on to run into a second pickup truck stopped at the light.

The wreck trapped the driver of the first struck pickup truck in his vehicle until emergency responders could extract him. He received transport to a hospital in Victoria. The family of six people in the second pickup truck reportedly did not receive injuries from the accident. The crashes ruptured truck diesel tanks. Emergency crews worked to clean the spilled diesel fuel from the highway.

The thoughts and prayers of the Texas truck accident attorneys at Denena & Points are with the pickup truck driver injured by the intoxicated big rig driver. The injured man could be eligible to receive full financial compensation from the truck driver and his employer for the injuries he needlessly sustained from the accident. Massive semi trucks can be like deadly weapons in any accident with smaller vehicles. When a big rig driver causes an accident due to intoxication, the magnitude of the injuries and accident effects can be so much worse.
