A 15-year-old student of Aldine High School who was a well-regarded soccer coach and an avid skateboarder had his skateboard in hand as he was waiting for his school bus around 6:30 a.m. a few days ago. A driver who had two children in her car apparently did not see the teen in time to avoid an accident.

Authorities say the driver swerved to try and avoid hitting him, but she did not succeed. The driver fatally struck the teen and ended up wrecked in a ditch. The impact was apparently very loud and brought relatives and friends rushing to the tragic scene.
