Key Rollover Wreck Risk Factors You Need to Know

Our Alvin, Texas car accident injury attorneys note that some frequent factors in causing rollover wrecks, which could lead to serious injury or death, include:

  • Tire defects that can result in tire tread separations, tire blowouts, and loss of driver control.
  • Excessive speed, particularly on a curve or turn.
  • Striking an object in the road such as curb or concrete divider.
  • Narrow vehicle wheelbase in relation to the size and weight of a vehicle.
  • A high center of gravity for the vehicle, as with a Jeep or SUV.
  • An overloaded vehicle.

Serious injury rollover wrecks happen most often when a vehicle is taking a turn or a curve. Our Alvin, Texas car accident injury attorneys emphasize that rollover crashes cause victims to be ejected from their vehicles more than other types of wrecks, and about 75% of vehicle ejections cause fatal injuries.

If a car’s speed exceeds what the combined wheelbase, center of gravity and tire integrity can bear, the car might lose its stability and go into a rollover. Click the link to learn some important safety tips that could reduce your risks of suffering a serious rollover crash injury.
