The other two men, who clearly don’t spend much time on safety issues, darted across the freeway, but were soon apprehended as well.
As the chase proceeded, the abandoned car of the 3 safe-stealing suspects burst into flames. Police managed to extract the safe from the car’s trunk before it burned along with the vehicle.
While this was going on, the homeowner, who had rushed towards home after hearing of the break-in, sat in stalled traffic on the freeway watching the would-be getaway car burn to a cinder.
