Pickup Truck Wrecks Fire Truck Headed to Channelview, TX House Fire | DENENA | POINTS

On Saturday a Chevrolet 3500 pickup truck printed with the sign of a Baytown, TX company collided at high speed with a Channelview Volunteer Fire Department truck that was responding to a call on a house fire. The Chevy 3500 pickup truck was westbound on the I-10 feeder road at Thompson. The Channelview fire truck was northbound on Thompson.

A witness was stopped at a nearby red light when the pickup truck – fire truck collision occurred. He said that the Chevy 3500 pickup truck struck the Channelview fire truck with great force. He said that the pickup truck’s impact managed to knock the heavy fire truck across the median. The witness stated that the force of the truck collision almost knocked the Channelview fire truck over. Hoses and other equipment spilled from the truck due to the collision.

The Chevy 3500 pickup truck driver and two passengers were hospitalized from their accident injuriesin stable condition. The Channelview volunteer firefighters were fortunately uninjured. An investigator with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office stated that the accident was under investigation.
