A hit and run driver in a red or maroon Ford Contour mowed down Oscar Gonzalez, 61, in the middle of a crosswalk in south Houston this weekend. The horrific hit and run incident occurred around 10 p.m. Saturday at Spencer Highway on 8th Street in south Houston. Witnesses said that the driver never stopped after hitting the man in the crosswalk. Mr. Gonzalez received an airlift to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
