Loss of Control on a Curve and Motorcyclists’ Accident Risks
Because they have two wheels instead of four, motorcycles are inherently less stable on the road than passenger vehicles. Our Pearland motorcycle accident attorneys emphasize that bikers could suffer a loss of vehicle control for many reasons. Running over a patch of loose gravel, debris, or a slick spot could send the motorcycle off the road. Motorcycle accident statistics reveal some alarming trends in bike crashes:
- 44% of motorcyclist fatalities result from single vehicle crashes where the biker loses control of his vehicle.
- 56% of biker fatalities result from multi-vehicle motorcycle crashes.
- 89% of the multi-vehicle motorcycle crashes involve just two vehicles as in the Stephens County motorcycle crash.
