On Saturday morning around 6 a.m., a Midland County chain reaction wreck on East Highway 158 close to County Road 130 involved four vehicles, claimed two lives, and seriously injured one other man. Gonzalo Barraz, 47, crashed head-on into 19-year-old Zachary Antonio Dibble’s pickup with his pickup truck on Highway 158. Both men died at the scene of the violent impact.
Ernesto Chapa Villarreal, 46, in another pickup truck, then struck the Dibble vehicle. Eulogio Carrillo Espeleta, driving a passenger van, subsequently hit Ernesto Villarreal’s truck. Mr. Villarreal was transported to the hospital with serious injuries from the Midland County chain reaction wreck. Three of the four vehicles involved in the fatal crash were completely totalled.
