Thursday night just before 8 p.m., Mark Cordero of The Woodlands suffered fatal injury after being ejected from his Kawasaki motorcycle in a crash with a car that failed to yield right-of-way. The female passenger on Mr. Cordero’s bike, Ms. Patricia Buscemi, was not ejected from the motorcycle. She received transport to the hospital with critical injuries.
Michael Corallo, from Huntsville, was driving the Ford Contour that reportedly failed to yield as it made a left turn in front of Mr. Cordero’s bike. Corallo was delivering a pizza at the time, and Mr. Cordero’s motorcycle was unable to avoid a crash when the Ford Contour suddenly turned in front of it. The bike slammed into the car’s rear passenger door. Our Woodlands wrongful death attorneys mention that the fatal motorcycle crash occurred at FM 1097 and Big Horn Trail.
Reports say that Mr. Cordero was traveling within the posted speed limit at the time of the fatal motorcycle crash and that alcohol was apparently not a factor in the wreck. Nothing was mentioned regarding Michael Corallo’s speed as he was delivering the pizza. (Source: Scott Engle, Montgomery County Police Reporter, 3/15/13)
This Past Week Was a Deadly and Tragic One for Motorcyclists in Texas
Our Woodlands wrongful death attorneys sadly note that Mr. Cordero’s fatal motorcycle crash near Willis, Texas was not the only one that occurred during this particularly deadly week for bikers. Jason E. Schiller of College Station also suffered fatal injury in a motorcycle crash when he lost control of his bike on Texas Highway 6 on Wednesday and struck a median.
On Thursday afternoon, a 73-year-old motorcyclist tragically died when he lost control of his bike near Dolores Huerta Avenue on U.S. 83 in Weslaco.
And on Friday morning, a biker died in a horrific Houston accident when he lost control of his motorcycle on the North Sam Houston Parkway, struck the outside retaining wall, was ejected from the bike, and fell about 50 feet to the feeder road below.
In all four tragically fatal motorcycle crashes, the bikers died at the scenes of the accidents. In some cases, it is still not clear whether other vehicles and drivers might have been involved in causing their untimely fatal accidents. The Woodlands wrongful death attorneys at Denena Points, PC express their sincere condolences to the families and friends of all of these bikers. We also wish Ms. Buscemi a safe and complete recovery from her severe injuries.
