Injury collision of FedEx truck & flatbed truck shuts down TX tollway | DENENA | POINTS

Houston accident attorneys: Emergency crews were responding to a traffic accident on the westbound Beltway 8 feeder road by the Pearland Parkway and South Sam Houston Tollway just after 8 a.m. Friday morning. Then a few minutes later, a serious injury collision occurred between a FedEx panel truck and a flatbed truck.

The injury collision between the FedEx truck and the flatbed truck happened on the westbound tollway’s main lanes. The collision was very serious and required the evacuation of the FedEx truck driver by LifeFlight to the hospital. To perform the rescue, officers had to close the tollway’s main lanes so that the LifeFlight could land and fire trucks could respond to the scene. Traffic would normally have been diverted onto the feeder road, but the feeder road was already closed because of the first accident. So traffic during the morning rush hour on Friday became backed up about 5 miles, all the way from the Pearland Parkway to the Gulf Freeway. Tolls were waived, though that was probably little consolation to commuters delayed on the way to work.

The thoughts and prayers of the Houston accident attorneys at Denena & Points are with the injured FedEx truck driver at this time. We hope for his quick and complete recovery from the serious injury collision.
