Wednesday afternoon around 4 p.m., two westbound vehicles on Highway 90 were racing at an estimated 100 mph. At least one of the cars was weaving in and out of rush hour traffic. That car crossed over into the oncoming lanes of traffic and slammed into two other cars. The driver of the racing car, described as a white sedan, was killed in the deadly impact. Karambir Chahal, 29, who had reportedly just received a promotion at work and recently married, also tragically died in the high-speed impact. He was driving one of the eastbound cars hit by the racing white sedan.

All lanes of Highway 90 were shut down for some hours as authorities investigated the deadly multi-vehicle wreck. Accounts of the incident did not release the name of the driver of the racing car or disclose whether the identity of the other racing driver was known.
