Tomball injury attorneys note that 22-year-old Amanda Lynn Woods has admitted to authorities that she was drinking prior to the crash that claimed an innocent life. Woods sped through a red light and caused a fatal wreck on Tomball Parkway near Boudreaux Road. A witness reported that Woods had also run another red light just prior to running though the light near Boudreaux and causing a crash.
The wreck in NW Harris County occurred about 4 a.m. on Thursday. Woods crashed into a Kia with her Chevy pickup. The Kia, in turn, struck a Toyota Celica. The driver of the Kia tragically died in the wreck. The driver and a passenger in the Celica received transport to the hospital with injuries received in the collision.
Deputies at the scene conducted a field sobriety test, which Woods failed to pass. They took her into custody. She has since been charged with intoxication manslaughter relating to the fatally injured driver of the Kia and two counts of intoxication assault. Woods admits that she had imbibed alcoholic beverages at the billiards hall where she was employed.
