Drive Safely. It is a simple concept really. Unfortunately, we have learned about another instance where the failure to do so has cost lives. Sadly, a triple fatal accident in Mathis, TX on I-37 claimed three lives on Friday night. Police have said that so far they don’t believe alcohol was a factor in the tragic loss, but that a vehicle’s speed, around 100 mph, remains the likely cause of the devastating crash.
We would like to speak to the witnesses that reported to the police a Honda was speeding southbound on I-37 up to 100 mph. These witnesses also report the driver lost control of the speeding Honda and the car became airborne and then crashed into an oncoming Volkswagen on the northbound side of the highway.
In our ongoing efforts to investigate, catalog and ultimately lessen the amount of wrecks on highways in Galveston and around Houston such as Highway 288, we collect a great deal of information and would like to speak to the witnesses to this tragedy. Please call us at 877-307-9500 if you have any information regarding this tragic motor vehicle collision.
At high speeds, vehicle control can be lost so easily on a curve or a patch of loose gravel or even a slick spot. The latest technologies in electronic stability control still haven’t been able to address the problem of keeping a vehicle safely on course when at extreme speeds. The Houston accident attorneys at Denena & Points note that news reports of the fatal I-37 accident don’t yet indicate whether police have determined what caused the Honda to go out-of-control on the highway.
Our deepest condolonces go out to the families of those that died in this collision: Randall Curbello, 22 from Three Rivers, Joanna Garcia, 18 from Weslaco and Celeste Ray Gauna, 18 from Corpus Chisti.
