Rumble Strips an Effective Measures in Preventing Catastrophic Collisions caused by Cars Crossing Centerlines

An NCHRP, National Cooperative Highway Research Program, Report (No. 641) said that rumble strips could reduce the number of fatal and serious injury accidents caused by cars crossing centerlines by up to 64%. Rumble strips are a particularly attractive safety measure because they cost almost nothing to install and maintain. And drowsy or distracted drivers that suddenly encounter them could have a chance to correct their courses and save lives.

Our Alvin, TX car collision attorneys emphasize that since many rural Texas highways are narrow, two-lane roadways divided by nothing by a faintly painted line, a safety measure that could alert drivers when they are crossing out of their lanes could have significant safety implications.
