On Monday afternoon just after 3:30, a pickup truck slammed almost head-on into an SUV on FM 306 on the east side of Canyon Lake in the Hancock section. The extreme force of the impact ripped the cab from the pickup truck and caused a fire to erupt from the wreckage. Our Alvin, TX car accident attorneys note that rescue personnel were fortunately able to put out the fire quickly. They extracted the 25-year-old male driver from the pickup truck. He received air transport to a San Antonio medical center for his critical injuries.

The 54-year-old female driver of the SUV died at the tragic scene of the fatal wrong-way driving crash. Another pickup truck was also caught up in the wreck, but the driver and her children reportedly refused transport to the hospital. The section of FM 306 from the Hill Country Resorts to the South Dam Access Road was closed for about three hours while the accident scene was cleared and investigated. The investigation is ongoing.
