I-45 Crash Results in 2nd Collision, Sue Powell Fatal Motorcycle Wreck | DENENA | POINTS

Thursday morning on I-45 near Conroe, Texas, Sue Powell and her husband, Marion Powell, were traveling southbound on their three-wheeled Honda motorcycle when they struck the back of a Ford F-350 pickup truck. Reportedly, the driver of the Ford F-350 pickup truck may have stopped or slowed in response to delays caused by an earlier semi truck crash on I-45. In the earlier crash, our Pearland motorcycle crash attorneys note that the semi truck had rolled over on I-45 near the River Plantation Drive exit and blocked all four lanes.

The severe impact hurled the Honda motorcycle approximately 200 feet across two lanes and onto the shoulder of I-45. Sue Powell died from her tragic crash injuries and Marion Powell received transport to the hospital with critical injuries.

The Powells were respected members of the southeast Texas Patriot Guard Riders. The Patriot Guard provides honor rides for U.S. soldiers killed in action and returning home for their burials. (Sources: www.yourhoustonnews.com; and khou.com, 6/13/13)
