The Houston accident lawyers at Denena & Points were saddened to learn of the passing of two Texans in a tragic head-on collision for which the ultimate cause remains unknown. A tragic head-on crash between a 2003 Ford F-150 and a 2004 Chevy Tahoe claimed the lives of drivers Jack Allen Sprague and Gena Anne Diaz on SH 19. The accident occurred not long before 6 p.m. on Tuesday at State Highway 19 and Southview.

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office had received a series of calls reporting reckless driving by Mr. Sprague, the Ford’s driver, before the Palestine Police Department received a final call reporting the fatal accident involving Mr. Sprague’s Ford F-150 pickup. Northbound Mr. Sprague crashed head-on into Ms. Diaz’s southbound Chevy Tahoe when he crossed over into the southbound lane. The forceful impact required that the Fire Department extract both drivers from their crashed vehicles. Both died from their accident injuries a short time later.

Two other vehicles also became involved in the sudden chain wreck. One driver received minor injuries, while the other remained uninjured.

Reportedly, alcohol was not a factor in the head-on crash. A KYTX report of the incident wondered whether Mr. Sprague had a medical condition that might account for the erratic driving and crash. Autopsy reports have apparently been ordered in the case, and final accident investigation results are pending the findings of the autopsy reports.
