Texas Car-Centric Street Designs Contribute to the Frequency of Pedestrian Injuries

Across the nation, many communities are adopting the “Complete Streets” approach to urban design. The Complete Streets program means that urban planners take into account the needs of pedestrians and bicyclists, as well as motor vehicle drivers, when planning roadways, traffic signals, and intersections.

But Texas, with its sprawling landscapes and vast travel distances from place to place, is not a pedestrian-focused place. And our Pearland pedestrian injury lawyers note that few communities have yet begun serious work on designing and building Complete Streets to help us all safely share the road. Click the link to read more about how Texas street design contributes to the frequency of pedestrian injuries and fatalities.
