Details of the Fatal Pedestrian Accident SUV Collision on Highway 290
A man that accident investigators believe might have been crossing Highway 290 to seek help for his disabled vehicle was struck and killed by a chain of 6 or 7 vehicles late on Saturday night. The man had been driving eastbound when he pulled his BMW onto the shoulder and tried to cross the highway.

 The pedestrian was struck by multiple vehicles in the westbound lanes and fatally injured. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the fatally struck pedestrian. Some reports say that the pedestrian appeared to have been intoxicated at the time of the collisions. Reportedly, that area of the highway is unlit and authorities said they didn’t expect to file charges in the incident.

The tragic pedestrian accident occurred around the 2600 block of Highway 290 at Telge in NW Harris County. A 2004 silver Nissan Murano SUV first struck the man as he attempted to cross the outbound lanes of the highway in the vicinity of Barker Cypress. Authorities say the pedestrian received life threatening injuries during this first collision and might have failed to yield right of way to the oncoming SUV.
