Did you know that many Multi-Vehicle Motorcycle Wrecks get classified as Single-Vehicle Accidents?
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, or NHTSA, keeps detailed statistics regarding fatal motorcycle accidents. Our Houston motorcycle crash attorneys point out that many motorcycle wrecks get classified as single-vehicle accidents even though other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Single vehicle accident classification doesn’t necessarily mean that no other vehicles were involved in the crash. For instance, during rush hour, an accident might occur when a biker is forced to halt by sudden traffic stoppage in front of him and crashes while taking evasive action.
Single-vehicle accident classification just means that even though there may have been many other vehicles in the vicinity at the time of the crash, no other vehicle actually struck the rider of the bike. Our Houston motorcycle crash attorneys note that motorcycle accidents that end up classified as “single-vehicle” wrecks account for about half of all fatal motorcycle crashes.
