What to do after a Fatal Rosenberg TX Industrial Explosion Accident

Feliciano Ramirez Puerta, 49, died on Saturday in a tragic industrial explosion accident in Rosenberg, Texas. Reportedly he was using a cutting torch on barrels around SCR Construction. The barrels were marked as containing some type of cleanser when the substance possibly ignited from the torch and exploded. An employee of SCR Construction that had been working in a building nearby said that an explosion shook the structure and when he went to see what had happened, he found Feliciano Ramirez Puerta on the ground by one of the metal barrels. The Frequency of Fatal Work Accidents and One of the Most Common Causes

U.S. Bureau of Labor statistics on workplace fatalities in 2011 show that 4,609 workers received fatal injuries on the job that year. That means that on an average day, there were 13 workers they went to work and never came home. And among that number, 729 Latino or Hispanic workers were killed on the job n 2011. In other words, 2 of the 13 workers that went to their job and didn’t come home on a given day were Latino.

One of OSHA’s 10 most violated safety standards for the year was the Hazard Communication Standard. So it’s not unusual for a workplace to not adequately communicate to workers that an activity might hazardous. Our Houston wrongful death lawyers note that violation of that standard, which might have contributed to the fatal accident by the SCR Construction building, might result in serious or fatal injury to workers.
