Katy, TX Motorcycle Crash Lawyer on Horrific, Fatal Motorcycle Crashes

When you see a motorcycle accident written up in the news, you might feel stunned by the severity of that accident and the horrific or fatal injuries suffered by the motorcyclist. But as a Katy, TX motorcycle crash lawyer who’s been representing injured bikers and the family members of fatally injured bikers for over 12 years, I have to mention that what you see in the news doesn’t even begin to give you the full picture.

The injuries bikers experience when larger vehicles run over, roll over, land on, and strike them can be horrifying to see or contemplate. Just the last few days have seen news reports of several horrific, fatal motorcycle crashes in Texas. I’m going to mention three of them here.

The Lubbock area lost Judge Rusty Ladd when a Jeep SUV driven by a teen failed to yield and collided with the Judge’s bike. The Judge was wearing a helmet at the time of the tragic collision. But a helmet isn’t always enough to save a motorcyclist from the effects of crash impacts.

The Rockport area saw Ingleside resident Samuel Loy Tramell rear-ended on his motorcycle by a Rockport salesman, possibly DWI, driving faster than he was. The impact hurled Mr. Tramell to the pavement. Mr. Tramell was not wearing a helmet, and was pronounced dead at the scene of the unfortunate crash.

Waelder, TX witnessed what was likely the most catastrophic motorcycle crash of this trio. Eusebio Yanez Mendoza, aka Samuel Hernandez, was identified as the hit-and-run driver who ran over motorcyclist Steven David Lehman. Eusebio Mendoza, accompanied by passenger Rodolfo Medina, collided with Mr. Lehman’s motorcycle in his pickup truck. The bike came to rest on top of Mr. Lehman. The pickup truck came to rest on top of the bike.

According to a witness, Eusebio Mendoza and Rodolfo Medina then got out of the truck to observe the scene and their victim. They started to flee on foot. Then they apparently changed their minds. They got back in the pickup truck, backed and ran over Mr. Lehman one more time, and fled. At last report, police were still searching for the hit-and-run driver and his passenger. Mr. Lehman suffered not just fatal injury, but great indignity, at these men’s bloody hands.

During years of practice as a Katy, TX motorcycle crash lawyer, I’ve seen some callous drivers behind fatal bike accidents. But Eusebio Yanez Mendoza and Rodolfo Medina stand out. Apparently they were on their way to work at Waelder’s Texas Egg Products when they took Mr. Lehman’s life. At the last report I read, they were both on the lam. I fervently hope they’re caught and prosecuted to the full extent that the law allows. Do you really want men with their callous disregard for life freely roaming our Texas roads?
