9-year-old boy, ejected from SUV, dies in SE Houston rollover wreck | DENENA | POINTS

The Houston rollover wreck attorneys at Denena & Points were saddened to hear of a fatal SUV accident that gave a mournful start to the weekend with the tragic death of a 9-year-old child. A young boy, identified as James Charles Phillips, was ejected from an SUV in a fatal rollover crash near Balcones and East Edgebrook in SE Houston around noon on Friday. The SUV crash and vehicle ejection resulted in the boy’s tragic death at the scene of the accident.

4-year-old twins, siblings of young James Phillips, and the SUV driver also suffered vehicle ejection due to the forceful impact of the wrecked SUV. The SUV came to rest near a tree after rolling. The ejected trio received transport to the hospital. The twins both received broken bones from the crash and vehicle ejection.

According to a KTRK news report, police believe the wreck to be a single-vehicle accident in which speed was a factor. Reportedly, unrelated witnesses have said that they saw the SUV speeding and that it struck a tree. These witnesses indicated that no other vehicle was involved in the fatal rollover crash.

The mother of the injured twins and of the boy killed in the crash has said that her boyfriend was driving the wrecked SUV, and that she was following behind in her own car when the crash occurred. She claims a car came by, clipped the vehicle in which her children rode, and caused it to flip over.

Our Houston rollover wreck attorneys condole with the family and grieving mother on the loss of young James Charles Phillips. We hope that the injured members of the family make full and rapid recoveries from their accident injuries.
