2 Teens Die in Tragic Crash on Rain-Slicked Roberts Cemetery Road

The Houston auto accident attorneys at Denena & Points have the deepest sympathies for the grieving family and friends of two college-bound young women tragically killed in a Friday morning crash on rain-slicked Roberts Cemetery Road. Anne Donlon, 19, of Hockley and Katie Walker, 19, of Tomball shared their ride to Lone Star College after heavy rains blanketed roads with pools of standing water.

The two young women were southbound about 10:30 a.m. on Roberts Cemetery Road near Nichols Sawmill. The road contained areas of standing water following the heavy rains of earlier in the day. Their car apparently lost control on a curve and fishtailed, which brought the passenger side of the teens’ car into the path of a large, oncoming truck.

Witnesses to the devastating crash told Texas troopers that the truck’s driver took evasive action to try and avoid the fishtailing car. But the large truck could not maneuver out of the way in time.

The force of the impact between the two vehicles carried them both into a nearby creek. They were not submerged. Onlookers went to the creek to try and help the two teens, but to no avail. The two young women perished at the scene from the forceful impact of the crash. The truck driver received transport to the hospital where he was treated for his injuries from the wreck. Troopers said that the inclement weather was a contributing factor in the accident.
