2 Car Crash at Hempstead and Campbell in NW Houston Kills 1, Injures 1
Thursday morning about 5:45, a Ford Focus and a Toyota Camry collided in a deadly rear-end wreck that left one woman tragically dead and another person seriously injured. Reportedly the cars were eastbound on Hempstead Highway when one stopped to turn left onto West by Northwest Boulevard. Then the other car slammed into the one turning left.
Our Hempstead Highway accident attorneys mention that the driver of the car that rear-ended the other vehicle said that the headlights of an oncoming car had blinded him and he didn’t see that the other car was stopped in front of him. The two injured victims inside the car that he rear-ended received rush transport to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where the injured woman was pronounced dead. Poor Visibility Can Cause Traffic Crashes
Drivers heading eastbound at certain times of morning and especially drivers heading westbound in the late afternoon and at sunset sometimes blame unexpected accidents on sun glare. And drivers who wreck at night and during the early dawn sometimes blame temporary blindness from the glare caused by bright lights like car headlamps. Our Hempstead Highway accident attorneys note that these issues of poor visibility from light blindness happen most frequently in older adults whose eyes are slower to adjust to changes in illumination. And drivers that approach with their headlamps on “bright” cause more problems for other drivers than those with lower illumination.
