Denena Points, P.C. believes that a solid education is fundamental to living a happy and meaningful life. In the past, we have supported elementary schools here in the Houston area with charitable donations as part of our commitment to education.
We are now honored and pleased to announce the establishment of the Annual Denena Points, P.C. Law and Technology College Scholarship.
Our annual college scholarship, which is in the amount of $1,000, will be awarded to the student with the best written submission addressing how technology can make law more accessible.
Technology touches all of our lives more and more every day. The legal field is no different. Back when our founding partners were in law school, their legal research was done using thousands of law reporters to find and read case law. Now, legal research is done over the internet.
Not many years ago, trial exhibits were made of hard-backed poster board. Now, modernized courthouses have screens that drop down from the ceiling so that lawyers can show their electronic exhibits to the jury.
We are interested in hearing how you – the applicant – believe that technology can be used to make the law work better for all of us.
To be eligible for the Denena Points, P.C. Law and Technology College Scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:
- You must be a United States citizen
- You must be currently enrolled in college or high school
- You must maintain an average GPA of 3.0 or higher
How to apply
To apply for the Denena Points, P.C. Annual College Scholarship, applicants must compose a 500+ word essay. The focus of the essay should be how technology can make law more accessible to all citizens.
To put it another way, how can the use of technology help to level the playing field when “Citizen David” goes up against “Goliath Corporation,” as we do every day in our law practice?
