Houston, TX fatal accident on the Gulf Freeway: A man speeding northward in a red GMC pickup truck on the Gulf Freeway shortly after midnight on Thursday lost control of the truck. He struck the inside concrete wall of the Gulf Freeway after losing control of his truck. The impact in the 7000 block of the Gulf Freeway spun the GMC pickup truck around to come to a stop in the middle of the freeway.

The driver exited the pickup truck, apparently to check for damage. A witness to the pickup truck wreck stopped to help. The pickup truck driver and the witness were standing in the middle of the Gulf Freeway near the wrecked pickup truck when a black Toyota Avalon came along and smashed into the stopped GMC pickup truck. The force of the impact sent the GMC pickup truck slamming into its driver and the witness,

The driver of the GMC pickup truck died at the scene from the injuries received from this second wreck in the middle of the Gulf Freeway. The witness and the driver of the Toyota Avalon went to the hospital with minor injuries. Police said that neither the witness nor the driver of the Toyota Avalon appeared intoxicated at the time of the double wreck.
