$160,000 Recovery for Woman Who Lost Hearing in Left Ear After Airbag Deployed in Side Impact Collision

The Board Certified Personal Injury attorneys at Denena & Points recently resolved a lawsuit for a local Houston woman just before trial against an assisted living center whose driver ran a stop sign and T-boned the plaintiff on her driver side front door.  The force of the collision caused the woman’s left side airbags to deploy, which resulted in a blow to the woman’s head.  She immediately recognized a ringing in her ears.  Weeks later it has discovered that the blow from the airbag had caused permanent hearing damage that now requires hearing aids.

After initially denying liability and disputing that the plaintiff had suffered hearing loss in the collision, Tony Denena was able to convince the defendant’s insurance carrier that their insured driver was at fault and the hearing loss was caused by the collision.

The parties settled after mediation and on the eve of trial.  The net settlement funds to the plaintiff are significant in that they will cover the cost of the plaintiff’s hearing aids and doctor’s visits for the rest of her life.
