Pearland Accident Attorney Asks: How Far Will Insurance Cos. Go to Dig Up Dirt?

Just how far will insurance adjustors, insurance lawyers and corporate defense lawyers go to dig up dirt on you after your Pearland Car Accident or after your Highway 288 Car Accident? As far as they can. They will go as far as you let them. So don’t give recorded statements and don’t sign their invasion of privacy forms.

So yesterday I am at my desk working on a motion for a client’s case. As is typical, the other side is refusing to hand over obviously discoverable material and so I have to file a pleading with the court called a Motion to Compel. As I am working on my legal research for the motion, one of our legal assistants, Marisol, buzzes my office. She tells me a client of ours is on the phone telling her about a suspicious truck that has been driving through his neighborhood all week videotaping people on his block. One of the neighbors even called the police on the third day of this invasion of privacy. I am happy to report the suspicious truck has not been seen in the neighborhood since yesterday when the police spoke with the people in the truck. Obviously, the insurance company on the other side of the case and their lawyers sent out “investigators” to get surveillance on our client. They will cut and splice that tape up in an effort to show our client is not being truthful about his injuries. Well it won’t work for two reasons.

– Reason 1: our client is really hurt and he is being 100% truthful. We demand that of all our clients.

– Reason 2: I will aggressively pursue the defendants and force them to hand over the complete tape even if I have to go to the judge to get it done.

With these kinds of tactics going on you need to think long and hard about whether you should go it alone on your Personal Injury Case.
